On November 2nd 2022, Leicester International Institute (DLI) held the appointment ceremony for the 2022 class advisors and the award ceremony for students’ favorite teacher in Conference Room C07-207. After the ceremony, a teacher seminar was held. The seminar was hosted over by Tan Zhenquan, Deputy Dean of DLI. Zhao Lingling, Deputy Dean of DLI, the 2022 class advisors, the awarded teachers and other relevant staff participated in it.
At first, Tan Zhenquan expressed his thanks to all the 2022 class advisors for their active participation in the training process of the DLI students for a long time. He briefly introduced the achievements of DLI and the problems it has encountered since its establishment. The condition of the graduates in 2021 and 2022 has made gratifying achievements, which have been concerned and recognized by the school and the society. He stressed that DLI's achievements could not have been achieved without the long-term support and dedication of all the teachers. He also hoped that all the teachers would continue to make efforts to cultivate outstanding international innovative talents.
Zhao Lingling emphasized the importance of class advisors from the perspective of students' work. Class advisors are the first guide for students to understand their major and get in touch with scientific research, playing an important role in students' college study life.She hoped that all class advisors and professors of specialized courses would strengthen the interaction and cooperation with student tutors in the future work, so as to better educate students in the whole process according to the characteristics of different students.
The teachers had a discussion and exchanged on how to better play the role of class advisors in the cultivation of international talents. The students' learning initiative, the learning model of both China and the UK, the students' learning enthusiasm and the requirements for promotion and repetition were discussed in depth as well.
In the future, DLI will continue to focus on the fundamental task of cultivating qualified students. Unite and gather all forces and strive to cultivate more excellent international talents.
